        The Alternatives
In Zinczenko’s article, “Don’t Blame the Eater,” fast-food industries are to blame for the obesity problems of today. Zinczenko mentions that fast food industries have not labeled their products clearly, by listing the calories contained in all of the items separately. He claims that children have no other alternatives especially when their parents are not home much of the time.
Although fast food may be a simple and low cost choice for dinner, there are other alternatives. Instead of fast-food restaurants, try making something simple, maybe a sandwich. Any child who is capable of ordering and paying for food at a fast food restaurant can surely make a sandwich as an alternative. It is a child’s, or even a parent’s, choice to eat fast food. People are in no way being forced to eat fast food and then sit and do nothing. Any person can choose to take control of their own life and stop eating fast food or even to start exercising.
